Dark Mode On / Off

Harsh title, I know. But I needed to get your attention. This is really important because believing this one thing made me feel like there was something wrong with me. It prevents millions of people from losing weight and ditching the junk food habit.

So, what’s this myth?

MODERATION. I call it “The Myth of Moderation” (I actually made a video all about it, which you can watch here, https://youtu.be/zqnOw5TlmMg)

You’ve been told that the key to weight loss is to eat everything in moderation, haven’t you? Isn’t this the “truth” that’s been passed on for years? I know I’ve heard it hundreds of times and I believed it to be true. I thought there must be something wrong with ME because I just couldn’t “do” moderation…

When I ate one cookie, I wanted to keep eating until suddenly half the pack was gone.

Before I was vegan, I remember I would come home from work and eat an ENTIRE wheel of brie and the ENTIRE pack of rice crackers to myself.

I could polish off an entire box of sugary cereal in 2 sittings. I’d literally eat cereal out of a mix salad bowl.

I would look at a group of girls at a restaurant that would share 1 tiny piece of cake for dessert and then get up and leave half of it still on the plate and think…. WHAT?! I would have polished that off myself and still be thinking about getting another slice.

“What’s WRONG with me?!” Why can’t I be satisfied with these tiny little “moderate” portions of food that other people seem to be fine with?…

THEN I learned about calorie density, stretch receptors and satiety cues and it all started to make sense. (If you want to learn more about that science-y bit, you can click here: https://youtu.be/lJXca-iECEI and watch Dr. Anthony Lim’s Low Calorie Density Webinar, it’s amazing. )

I made peace with the fact that moderation with junk foods just wasn’t something that works for me. *SIGH OF RELIEF* I knew I didn’t want to have to use A TON of willpower for the rest of my life when it comes to food and maintaining a healthy weight.

So, if any of this sounds familiar to you and you’re ready to give up counting calories, weighing and measuring your meals out and you want to be able to eat large portions of filling food until you’re comfortably full -then welcome to the club!

OK, it’s not a real club – but welcome to the World of low calorie density! It’s so freeing and the food is super tasty, I promise!
